What Jobs are Available in Aldi Stores?

Aldi is famously known for running an efficient operation in their stores. While large grocery chains may have dozens of employees working at any time, Aldi runs its stores with a much leaner staff.

What Job Roles are Available at Aldi?

When I recruited for Aldi, we worked with districts all over the country. There were only four types of positions available at Aldi stores in most areas. Those positions include cashiers, shift managers, manager trainees, and store managers.

Cashier Position

A cashier spends most of their time checking out customers as quickly as possible while still providing exceptional customer service. A cashier’s starting salary can range from $15 to $18 an hour, plus opportunities for medical coverage, vacation time, and 401(k) retirement plans.

Shift Manager Position

A shift manager's responsibilities include managing schedules, developing operational plans, and identifying training opportunities with the team. A shift manager’s starting pay can range from $20 to $24 an hour, including the same benefits as a cashier.

Store Manager Trainee Position

Store Manager Trainees are hired to spend time training alongside a strong store manager to learn all aspects of the position. Starting pay for store manager trainee positions typically starts at around $25 an hour plus benefits.

Store Manager Position

Store managers are responsible for all aspects of running their store. Their responsibilities include performance goals, inventory management, scheduling, and personnel management. New store managers will typically make between $70,000 and $90,000 annually, including potential bonuses.
