Similarities Between Fitness and Personal Finance

What do physical fitness and personal finance have in common? On the surface, there are a lot of differences between your fitness program and financial wellness.

So when referring to fitness, we’ll be talking about both sides of the equation, including physical activity and nutrition.

Financial Fitness is Behavioral

Being raised by a dietitian and having a love of sports had me interested in both early on. Looking back, I feel fortunate to have built habits in both areas at a relatively young age.

This statement means that everyone’s situation is different.

Personal Finance is Personal – So Is Fitne

What I’ve learned through personal finance is that if you want to change your behavior, you have to change your habits.

One reason we do not change our habits is that solutions are made overly complex. Many of us genuinely try to make changes, but we give up when things get too complicated.

Simplicity is King

Keep it simple with fitness and financial knowledge, and you’ll get 80 percent of the way there. It will also be your best bet at making changes to your daily habits, which is easier said than done.
